The archipelago brims with the best ones of the world!

Limunsudan Falls

The one to take the first position is the Limusundan Falls for its brilliant size. Though there’s a contest with another waterfall for the title of the tallest waterfall in the country but Limunsudan is still more impressive. However, with a height of 265 meters, Limunsudan stands as the tallest 2-tiered waterfall in the archipelago. When has it been to achieve something good without a little pain or sacrifice? Reaching this waterfall is the hardest as it is located in a remote location which is a 3 to 4hours drive from Cagayan de Oro. The roads are awfully dirty but once you reach the site, all this hassle will go whoosh in the air!

How to reach: Situated in Brgy, Iligan City in Lanao del Norte of Philippines, the most convenient way to get to the waterfall is from Iligan City and Cagayan de Oro. The closest airport is in Cagayan de Oro.

Tinago Falls

Tinago Falls is also located in Iligan City and is among the most beautiful waterfalls in the Philippines. It is known for its amazing waterfall lagoon that is swimmable for tourists, making it one of the favorites of nature lovers. If you are looking forward to seeing enchanting places in the island country, this one must not be missed.

How to reach: Situated on the borders of Barangay Purakan in Linamon and Barangay Dituacalan in Iligan City, it is not that difficult to reach Tinago falls.  You can reach Tinago waterfalls from Iligan City Proper and Cagayan de Oro City. The closest airport is the Laguindingan-Cagayan de Oro Airport.

Asik-Asik Falls

The Asik Asik falls located in Alamada in North Cotabato is among the unknown falls in Philippines that is gaining popularity on the Internet. Seeing the pictures online, one cannot keep away from visiting the site for real, especially for tourists already planning a trip to the Philippines. If you have no plans, the engaging pictures will make you get started with it. The whitewater of the falls appears to be originating from the lush green sprawl of the hidden ravine.

How to reach: Like Limunsudan falls, reaching Asik-Asik falls is also a little difficult. Situated in Brgy. Upper Dado of Alamada in North Cotabato, the falls needs you to cross rough areas if you come via Mindanao. However, the easier route is via Midsayap, Iligan City, Davao City and Cotabato City.

Aliwagwag Falls

Though places second last on the list, Aliwagwag is in no way a lesser-known waterfall I the country. IN fact, it has got the reputation of being the highest waterfall in the Philippines with a height of 338 meters. Located in Cateel in Davao Oriental, this one is a must-visit for you. The most special thing about the waterfall is the astounding number of tiers – more than 130 smaller cascades. You can occupy a corner for yourself and allure the panoramic view around - the lower cascades view look so amazing from the highway bridge close to the base. However, you won’t be able to see the entire flow of the waterfall as the river bends very sharp through the thick forest.

How to reach: Reaching the waterfall from the town of Cateel can be a little difficult. We would suggest taking the land route from Davao or Buatan. The closest airports to the site are Butuan Airport and Davao International Airport.

Tinuy-an Falls

Located in the Bislig City in Surigao del Sur of Philippines, the Tinuy-an Falls is famous as the Niagara Falls of Philippines. It is also the largest curtain-type fall across the country. You may not find it as spectacular as others mentioned on the list but a visit to Tinuy-an Falls won’t be disappointing for you.
